People of The Two Towers

Mirando Otto as Éowyn

The adopted daughter of King Theoden, Éowyn is not only beautiful but high-spirited and courageous; she longs to defend her people as a warrior, but is restrained from doing so by her father and brother, Éomer. She meets and falls in love with Aragorn during his visit to Theoden; when she understands that his heart belongs to another, she wishes for nothing more than a honourable death in battle. But fate has several surprises in store for the brave and lovely Éowyn...

Karl Urban as Éomer

Éomer is the brother of Éowyn and thus the adoptive son of Theoden, taken into the King's custody after the death of his parents. He is the chief Marshal of the Ridermark, the leader of a band of warriors charged with the defense of Rohan. Fierce and fiery-tempered, he is overly protective of his sister and absolutely devoted to his father and King.

Bernard Hill as Theoden

King of Rohan and ruler of Edoras, Theoden is a proud and hard warrior and a volatile, sensitive man. As The Two Towers is bewitched by the sorceries of his "advisor", Wormtongue, until he is but an withered, frail shadow of his former self. It is Gandalf who brings him back to his senses and warns him of the approaching danger; after the burial of his son, Theoden prepares his people for the oncoming war.

Brad Dourif as Grima Wormtongue

A sly, devious creature, Wormtongue acts as chief advisor to Theoden and pretends to offer the King good counsel. In truth, he is the spy of Saruman; a liar and a traitor, he enchants the King's mind until he is free to do his evil work. He flees from Edoras upon the arrival of Gandalf and the recovery of Theoden, and journeys to Isengard to inform Saruman of the King's plans.

David Wenham as Faramir, son of Denethor

Brother of the slain Boromir, Faramir is like his elder sibling in appearance and character; however, where Boromir was the favourite of their father, Faramir was disliked by Denethor and now desperately seeks his approval and respect. The Gondorian Ranger captures Frodo and Sam near Ithilien and brings them to the ruined and beseiged city of Osgiliath; during the journey, he threatens to take the Ring from Frodo and offer it to Denethor as a tribute. However, both hobbits convince him to let them continue their journey into Mordor to destroy the Ring.

John Rhys-Davies as the voice ofTreebeard

Treebeard belongs to the ancient race known as the Ents, the "tree shepherds" of Middle-Earth, calm and peaceful creatures who dwell within the borders of Fangorn Forest. He finds Merry and Pippin after their escape from the Orcs and brings them to an unexpected visitor. Despite the hobbits' pleas, Treebeard and the Ents refuse to aid the battle in Rohan and plan to bring Merry and Pippin home. But Pippin, through his wiles and wit, leads Treebeard south to view the destruction wrought by the powers of Isengard; enraged, Treebeard and the Ents attack and flood the citadel of Saruman, destroying it completely.

Andy Serkis as the voice of Gollum
