 The Doctor, USA, 1991, Directed by Randa Haines Jack McKee M.D works fast and precize. He's an extraordenary surgeon, star-doc in the hospital, but he's cold and zynic. He's just after money and not interested in other people than himself, not even his wife Annie (Christine Lahti) or his son Nicky (Charlie Korsmo). But the unbelieveable happens: Jack McKee gets cancer and has to change to the patient-side. In this position he meets the ill woman June (Elizabeth Perkins), who shows him a diffrend kind of living. |
This American Movie is adapted from Ed Rosenbaum's book A Taste of my own medicine, which is the autobiographic story of the doctor. Director Randa Haines already did "Children of a lesser god" with William Hurt in 1986.
Now we got sites on Elizabeth Perkins and Charlie Korsmo, too.
