Acrophobia is a state of the art thrill ride like no other. Intimin designed Acrophobia as a floorless stand up roto-drop. A few of the seats have been replaced in 2003 with more padding and comfort but not all seats have been changed, After rotating on your travel to the top of a 200 foot tower, you are suspended for aprox. 7 seconds, then only to reach the ground 1.6 seconds later. After this you will definatly not have the "fear of hights," Acrophobia. As you pass the Georgia Cyclone and walk up the hill, how can you pass up the tallest screams in the park. Acrophobia was added in 2001 along with DeJaVu. Acrophobia opened in Spring and DeJaVu did not open until later that year. Also during the 2004 season Acrophobia was struck by lightning and given a grave on May 13th, just before daily operation. Acrophobia is now back in operatio since August 4th, however when it first opened the rotation and tilting of the ride was cut. |
