6th Tennessee Infantry Regiment Company G Original Roster 1861-1865
This list of names is from Volume Two of Tennesseans in the Civil War.  It is listed by rank and then under rank, alaphabetically by name.  The ranks listed are the highest listed for the individual.  Remember that at one time a sergeant could be listed as a private before a promotion.
Also to note this roster is as complete as possible, however even Tennesseans in the Civil War Volume Two states that not all information was complete.  So they may have been persons that served in the unit that they found no records on, and thus are not listed here.
IMPORTANT NOTE:

We've completed searching the online index of pension applications for the state of Tennessee.

If a number follows the name that is his pension number.

A W#### is a pension filed by the soldiers widow.  A S#### is one filed by the soldier.

We noticed there were several pentions that could be for members of the company, but did not have the soldiers unit listed.  These we have left of the list.

An interesting note:

     We have found
FOUR pension applications for african-americans who served with the 6th Tennessee Infantry.  We are currently unable to locate the companies they were in if any.  But these are the names and application numbers for them:

Bledsoe, William A.
(C127)
Collier, Sam
(C211 & C257)
Smith, Presley
(C70)
White, Dick
(C134)

These gentleman could have served in Company G, a different company, or had been attached to the regiment.  As of right now we don't know for sure.  Except for the fact they applied for a post war pension, with the 6th Tennessee listed as their unit.
