COMPANY G, 6TH TEXAS CAVALRY REGIMENT, CSA
           Company G, was recruited in McLennanCounty, and was commanded by Peter F. Ross.  A private in the company was Sul Ross, who had just come back from Ranger Duty.  Lawrence Sullivan ("Sul") Ross was elected to Major in September 1861 and went on to lead the regiment and the Texas Brigade.
