Rawlins,   Roderick A. (w) Elected 1st Sgt., 09 Sep 1861, at CampBartow.  Elected 3rd   Lt. 15 Apr 1862.  Elected Capt. May 26, 1862, Corinth MS. Wounded at Battle of Thompson's Station, TN 05 Mar 1863.  Company surrendered at Jackson, MS, and were paroled at Citronelle, AL, May, 1865. Born Jan. 20, 1833   in Greene County, IL, died May 28, 1910 at his home south of Lancaster, Texas. His Father was Roderick   Rawlins and his mother was Mildred Parks.    He came to Texas with his parents in 1844   settling in the Lancaster area.  He married in DallasCounty on Sep. 30, 1852 to Virginia E. Bledsoe, born Aug. 1, 1827 and died Feb. 10,    1890.  He was President of the Dallas County   Pioneer Association for 20 Years.  : See Confederate   Veterans Buried at Edgewood Cemetery, Lancaster, Texas.

Johnson, F.C. He resigned May 26, 1862 and was dropped from rolls the same date.
Young, A.H. (d) A. H. Young died   November 5, 1862 probably from disease or infection of a wound from Corinth.

Gray, James A.
Grove, N.K. Resigned Apr1862, discharged   with disability.  Born April 11, 1822, died Jan. 31, 1894 in Lancaster.  He came to Texas in 1852.  He   was a merchant, teacher and the first Mayor of Lancaster in 1873 when the   town was incorporated.  His wife was   Elizabeth N. Baskin, born March 11, 1812 and died Sep. 23, 1883.He enlisted 9 Sep 1861when Company F Mustered.  He was elected Lieutenant on that day and   resigned April 15, 1862 due to a disability.  Buried;See:   Confederate   Veterans Buried at Edgewood Cemetery, Lancaster, Texas.

He resigned and was dropped   from rolls May 26, 1862.  He joined 2nd Texas Partisan   Rangers which was the second unit recruited by Col. B. Warren  Stone the first commander of the 6th   Texas Cavalry Regiment.

Ellis, John Thomas (w) Enlisted 25 Mar1862, Clarksville, AR. Wounded at Lovejoy Station, GA 16 Nov 1864. Paroled from Citronelle, AL, May, 1865.    Born Oct. 21, 1839 in Greene County, Il, died Mar 14, 1929 on a Thursday night at his home in West Lancaster.  His Father   was Thomas McKee Ellis and his mother was Mary Witt. He came to Texas in 1846 with his parents who settled in Lancaster.  He married Oct 5, 1870 in DallasCounty to Fannie C. Stewart, born Dec 6, 1849 and died Jul 21, 1884.  His second   marriage was to Sarah A. Sinclair born Jan 7, 1838 and died Mar 19, 1915.  Single   family marker on grave.  Survived by 3   sons and one daughter.  Burial, see: Confederate   Veterans Buried at Edgewood Cemetery, Lancaster, Texas.
Lavender, Virgil Gerome Enlisted Sep1861, Dallas, TX. Elected 4th Sgt. upon enlistment. Later reduced to   Pvt; Born Jan 8, 1841, Lowndes County, AL and died Nov 24, 1878 in Lancaster, Texas. He was one of 6 brothers that fought for the Confederacy.  Married in Ellis County,   TX, Jul 10, 1867 to Eveline Lewis born 1849 died 1942.  CSA widow pension application # 14994 and   buried: see: Confederate   Veterans Buried at Edgewood CemeteryLancaster,    Texas.

Born Mar 20, 1842, Greene County, IL, died Nov 25, 1929, Lancaster, TX.  He was the   son of Thomas McKee Ellis and Mary Witt.    They came to Texas in 1846 and settled in the Lancaster area.  He   enlisted 9 Sep 1861 in Dallas     County, TX.  He married   Mary E. Rawlins on Jul 25, 1867.  Her pension   application was #46202.  He is buried   at, see: Confederate   Veterans Buried at Edgewood Cemetery, Lancaster,    Texas.

Private William Worth Guy, the son of   Captain Guy, died in his tent, in Arkansas of what was described as   apoplexy.  The first death of a Lancaster soldier in the war, it was especially saddening   that young Guy,  regularly enlisted, was barely   thirteen years old??.  Single marker on   grave which reads ?Died in the Confederate Army? with burial,  seeConfederate   Veterans Buried at Edgewood Cemetery, Lancaster, Texas.

Enlisted Sep 9, 1861 in Dallas county.  Born   1836, Lowndes     County, AL, died 1873 in Lancaster, Texas.  Father was   Archibald McCravy Lavender, and his mother was   Sarah L Buffington.  They came to Texas in 1846 and settled in the Lancaster area.  One of   six brothers who all fought in the civil War.    Married in MadisonCount, MS on May 18, 1865 to (widow) Martha Ann Virginia Kirk, born Aug 30, 1840 and died Feb 11, 1933 in Dallas, Texas and is buried in the OakCliffCemetery.  Charles is   buried in an unmarked grave on his father?s lot in the Pioneer Section: Confederate   Veterans Buried at Edgewood Cemetery , Lancaster, Dallas, Texas.
Enlisted Oct1862, HollySprings, MS, after having brought horses to MS from Texas when the 6th was remounted fall, 1862.  Born Dec 23, 1833 in Lowndes County, AL, died Jul 25, 1907 in Lancaster, TX.  His father   was Archibald McCravy Lavender and his mother Sarah   L. Buffington.  They came to Texas in 1846 and settled in the Lancaster area.  He was   a farmer and a merchant.  He married in   Dallas County Texas in Dec 1859 to his first wife Lillis Elender   Douglas, born Nov 9, 1844 in Sangamon County, IL, and she died Mar 12, 1867.    She is buried in Archibal Lavender?s family plot at Edgewood.  They had four children.  James was one of six brothers that fought   for the Confederacy. He married his second wife in Dallas County, TX, June 14, 1870.  She was a   widow Lucy Ann Rawlins Brotherton born 1845 and   died 1932.  CSA widows pension   #46799.  They had 8 children.  There is one marker plus a confederate   marker on his grave: See: Confederate   Veterans Buried at Edgewood Cemetery ,Lancaster,    Texas.

Married in Dallas county 18 Jan 1866 to Martha "Mattie" Cole Peacock, born 18 Jan 1847, died 28 Dec    1888.   Was a farmer, later served as a deputy in the sherfiff's   and tax collector's offices of the county. Was mayor   of Lancaster for several terms.and also a judge in the city courts.
