THE WILLIAM P. FULLMER JR.
2005 FAMILY REUNION
ANNOUNCEMENT
THIS YEAR'S
REUNION will be held August 5th
through August 7th, 2005 on the family farm near Menan, Idaho.
To get to the
campsite, take the Lewisville Highway North from Idaho Falls, Idaho until it
intersects Highway 48. Turn West or
left on Highway 48. After about one
mile you will see a dirt farm road that goes South or left. This is the first turn to the South that you
will come to after leaving the Lewisville Highway. Follow the dirt road until it swings back to the North and you
will be at the campsite. Signs will be
set up to direct you to the right location.
Alternately, the campsite can be approached from Roberts, Idaho. Take I-15 to Roberts and then travel East on
Highway 48 until you come to the dirt farm road. The farm road is about 500 feet East of Donna Fullmer's
house. Her address is 3342 East 650
North, Menan, Idaho. If you are really
lost, call LeRoy or Kimberly Edwards (WP, Vern, Evan) at 208-403-9614. Kim’s e-mail address is kim@fullmerfamily.org. Together LeRoy and
Kim are serving as this year’s president.
The campsite is next to a channel of the Snake River. Some of the individual activities that you
may enjoy are swimming, canoeing, boating in small boats, floating in inner
tubes and fishing. The river is clean
and great for a cool swim. If you
decide to fish you will need an Idaho Fishing License. If you like power boating and water skiing
there is a good boat dock on the main channel of the Snake River only a few
miles away. We caution all and
especially the parents of young children that you will need to take steps to
protect yourself and your children from drowning. If you decide to bring a boat, raft or a canoe be sure that you
bring enough life jackets and other safety equipment.
Kim says that the fishpond has been improved
and will be stocked with live fish again this year. Adult fishermen are not going to be allowed to fish the pond
out. For you the program is strictly
catch and release. If you want to fish
in the pond you must use barbless hooks with artificial flies or lures. Dean Fullmer (WP, Norris) says that this
year he will allow those under 10 or over 60 to keep their catch from the pond. He says that the paddleboat will be
available on the pond and swimming in the pond will be allowed. Camping and individual activities are
available starting on Friday. Kim says
that Saturday activities
will include horseshoes, redneck horseshoes, 2 liter bottle rockets, film
canister rockets and volleyball. (I
don’t know about you but I can hardly wait to see what redneck horseshoes are
all about.) Because of time
constraints this year we will hold the dinner early starting promptly at 12:00
PM. As per usual it will be
potluck. Please bring a main dish,
salad and desert. Make sure you bring
enough food to feed your own family. The family organization will
provide the drink. Following the meal and not later than 1:30 PM we will
enjoy the traditional missionary fund auction. Reed Nord, a professional auctioneer, who helped us last
year, will call the auction for the benefit of the family missionary fund. Your participation in the auction
this year will be appreciated. We never
know when a member of our family will need financial help for their mission.
Several times in the past the mission fund has allowed
us to take care of our own. To make the
auction successful we need to have each family contribute items to be auctioned
off. Again this
year we will have a children’s change table filled with toys and trinkets for
them to purchase at $.05 to $1.00. Anyone who can donate items to the family auction or
children’s table, please do so before the meal so the auction can be organized
in advance. Items for the auction may include arts and crafts, baked goods, or
useful items that your family no longer uses.
Please bring items for the auction and your checkbook. We will have a great time and help to
support our family's missionaries who need our help.
On Sunday we encourage the members of the family to attend their own
church services or you may attend the Sacrament Meeting of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Menan, 1st Ward holds their
Sacrament Meeting, Sunday School, Priesthood Meeting and Relief Society Meeting
between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
At 1:00 PM we will hold a WP Fullmer Family Home Evening that we will
open and close with a prayer and a song. During this meeting every member of
the family who attends will have the opportunity to express their feelings.
After the FHE we will have another potluck dinner for those who want to
stay.
Make the time to attend the reunion. Your will be glad that you did. We always have a wonderful time and it will
be better if you are with us.
PLAN NOW for next year's reunion. It will be held August 4th
through August 6th, 2006. We
will announce the times and place in next year’s newsletter.
UPDATE
YOUR ADDRESS:
Please be sure that I have your correct address. I try hard to keep a current address
list. If this letter has been forwarded
to you or if you are forwarding letters for me I need to have you send me
current addresses. (Letters are only
forwarded by the post office for one year so if this letter was forwarded by
the post office this year and you don’t send a correction we will probably lose
track of you. Please don’t let
that happen.) If you know of family
members who have moved or of new family addresses created by marriages or by
adult children moving out of your home to a permanent address please
send their address to me, Steve Fullmer, 4019 Contadora Court, West Valley
City, Utah 84128-7007. For members of
your family who are not living with you but who do not yet have permanent
addresses please copy this newsletter and send it to them. Because it is difficult to keep up our
address list, I’m asking that each member of the family send their phone number
and e-mail address (if you have one) to me.
My e-mail address is skflmr@comcast.net.
NOW
FOR THE COMMERCIAL MESSAGE:
I'm sure that
you realize that it is expensive to print and post this newsletter. (Currently I have 241 addresses in my
database and expect to have more at the end of this year’s updates. We are rapidly becoming an extensive
family.) Thanks to those who are
contributing. If you feel that it is
worthwhile to continue our reunion and newsletter please send your
contributions to me at the return address on this letter or bring them to the
reunion. I appreciate the past and
current donations that have made this issue possible.
A SPECIAL REQUEST:
Elaine Taylor (WP, Norris) would like to compile a Fullmer Family Recipe book with favorite recipes from Grandma Fullmer and from each of her daughters or daughters-in-law. If you have recipes please send them with a picture of the person who’s favorite recipe it is to Elaine at 126 North 4000 East, Rigby, Id 83442. Questions? Her phone and e-mail are (208) 745-8029 and etctaylor@juno.com. Thanks in advance for your help.
