WELCOME to my "favorites" page.
A friend suggested a page of 'Favorite Things'. At first I was lost as I have an eclectic taste and my favorite things could go on and on. But one thing instantly popped into my head: Travel. I was lucky my parents took us traveling at an early age. So, I got bitten by the "travel-bug". There is no cure, the only treatment is to give in to it and travel. The rest of this page just took on a life of its own.
This page is dedicated to all the people that would not teach me HTML. I had no choice but to teach myself, sometimes that is the best way to learn. Thank you.
Three Favorite Cities
If I had to pick my three favorite cities in the world they would be: Paris, New York, and Toronto. (Sorry Boston, I still love you). Fort Lauderdale will always be a special place for me too. I will sum up each city in one sentence. Here goes...
-
Paris
-
The French don't dislike Americans, they just want us to TRY to speak their language.
When I travel, I rarely bring my camera, only because I like to travel
lightly. Here is a painting that reminds me of all the cafes and bistros of Paris. It is, of course, by Auguste Renoir, called, "Le Moulin de la Galette".
- New York
New Yorker's are some of the friendliest people in the
United States, they are
just always in a rush. Stop one sometime, ask for directions, and you
will find out for yourself.
- Toronto

It is cold nine months of the year, but wonderful. Situated on
beautiful
Lake Ontario, this city has something for everyone.
The Wedding (Jan. 1996)
My husband Dave and I love the Harbor Seals at the aquarium we were lucky to live near (when we lived in CT). These pics
are from 1996. We wanted to get married in the tank with them, but the water was too cold.
The Aquarium was so delighted that we wanted to get married there,
they asked if the press could be invited, as well as the Connecticut TV station,
because they needed the publicity. We were happy to oblige. What was
supposed to be a private ceremony became a very public event. Our
fifteen minutes of fame, I guess. It was fun for all. The ceremony
ended with a loud applause from a crowd of on-lookers, eight invited
guests, and wet splashes from the seals. I guess you could say our
wedding was sealed with a kiss. Click here to see more of our wedding pictures. Yes, those are bubbles, I had the two mothers blowing soap bubbles.)
The news footage was on the air every hour after 5 pm.
Much to our surprise we became local celebrities. Later had we had a party at a nice restaurant on the water.
Picture of us from Summer 1998--terrible pic of Dave. We were out on a porpoise sighting excursion in the Gulf of Mexico off of Clearwater, FL.
Oh look, here is a porpoise now, not a dolphin, see FL State Symbols page to tell the difference.
Little watering-hole near us. I like the old restored house; made to feel a bit like Key West, Florida.
Bird friends, my arm. They loved to be scratched! Click here to visit my Dear Pets page, I love animals!
Photo from our very cold Florida winter! Hey, I got to wear a jacket and jeans for a day!
I started writing poetry--or prose--as I like to call it before I could
print. It was only natural that I would appreciate the work of others.
There are so many poems that I love. But click here to see the six I have chosen. They
are not necessarily my "Top Six," but they are in the top twenty. Apologies go out to
T.S. Eliot, for I love "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock," but I won't include it. Click here to see some of my drawings.
