The weather was quite threatening on the balmy October 1999 afternoon when I shot this. Bad weather is not good news for this parkway, although the drawbridge couldn't care less. The bridge was heavily reconstructed a few years back. The dearth of traffic at this point belies the incredible tie-up awaiting us as soon as the city line with Mount Vernon and Pelham is approached, not too far ahead. |
