BINOCULAR POISON BOTTLE KU-7

The Binocular poison bottle is one of the worlds rarest poison bottles, patented in 1905 by a Mr. G.J. O'REILLY on the 20th of April. The bottle has a central groove which goes from the bottom to the top on the back of the bottle,on the front only goes up half way, leaving space for a label. Viewed from the base this looks surprisingly like a pair of BINOCULARS.
Only 3 specimens known,2 in aqua, and one in dense cobalt, the first one found was way back some 25 years ago,and is in an American collection and is just over 7" high, this aqua one is also a different size to the other later one found. The other smaller size and the cobalt bottle are in an English collection.

SLUG POISON BOTTLE KT-7.

There is talk of 2 more known in Australia, but have recieved no proof as yet.
Bottles and picture's fom the Brian Thatcher collection.

SKULL POISON BOTTLE KU-10

This must be the most famous poison bottleknown, although strictly an American poison at least 2 sets were found some years back in a chemist shop in North Wales which was due to by refurbished, perhaps the chemist proprietor had sent to the States for a few sets and never used them.
Patented by CARLTON . H . LEWE from Boston Mass. on the 26th June 1894. They come in 3 sizes, just under 3 inches, 3 and a half inches and 4 and a half inches, only found in cobalt blue.
A guess at the amount in private collections would be 80 +, with the small size much the harder to find, many more must have been broken,as the glass gets very thin in places like the nose, which seems to be the most vulnerablyplace. The base has a set of crossbones embossed upon it.
