The Wedding Clothes!
The Bride
Now...onto the actual dress!  My dress was inspired by the medieval and Rennaisance eras but wasn't historically accurate.  I just picked aspects I liked and came up with a dress design which my mum made me!

It was a two-tone dress.  Most of it was made from a delustred champagne coloured satin and the rest was an ivory brocade with a delicate floral print.  It had a square neckline and the front of the bodice was made of the brocade.  The bell-shaped sleeved were satin and lined with the brocade.  There was some braid around the neckline and down the front of the dress.

It had a basque waist and full skirt with lots of tulle underneath making it puffy!  The front panel of the skirt was brocade and the rest was the champagne satin.  It had about 30 tiny buttons down the back.

There was no train but I had a looong 2 layer veil which trailed behind me for quite a distance.  I didn't wear the blusher over my face though.  I wanted to boycot ivory or white dresses so champagne seemed a good choice with my skin colouring.

I wore a matching earring, necklace and tiara set.  It was in an antique gold finish and had little champagne/ivory flower shaped beads with topazy centres on each bit of jewellry.

My shoes had curved heels, a pointed toe and 4 straps on the front which fastened onto one side with buttons.  They were a pearly ivory leather.
Alex entered the 2000 Dress contest...and WON!  It was a great honour and I thank Robyn for the opportunity to enter!  Go to www.dresscontest2000.com to see what it's all about!  Check out my awards below:
The Groom
Andrew looked dashing in a black tux with a high cut jacket, fabric covered buttons and pointed (rather than rounded) satin lapels.  He had an ivory wing collared shirt with a black bowtie and a beautiful black vest with burgundy and gold raised brocade patterning going vertically doen the front.  He should wear that outfit more often!  It was purchased about 3 months before the wedding and he tried it on several times before the big day!
The Best Man
Mitch wore a suit of the same style to Andrew with an ivory wing collared shirt.  His vest was high cut in a burgundy pattern with a matching bowtie.  It was a really close match to the bridesnaids dresses!!
The Bridesmaids
The bridesmaids wore the most lovely dresses of ruby red fabric which was sort of shot with black so changed in the light.  The dresses had a light embroidered pattern in black over them.

The bodices were fitted with thin straps and flowed into a full skirt gathered to one side.  Each bridesmaid chose and designed her own jewellry set to reflect her personality!
The Bear Bearers
Since all three kids are from Ukrainian families we decided it wouldn't be inappropriate for then to wear their Ukrainian national costumes.  They all owned or borrowed pretty much everything so no-one needed to buy new clothes!  They really added some colour to the wedding and looked wonderful!
