BRITISH ROYAL NAVY - CHURCH SERVICE PENNANT

[ British Royal Navy Church Service Pennant ]

The church pennant, a signal that a religious service is about to take place or is underway aboard a ship, is used in the British Royal Navy. It dates from the 17th Century and combines the flags of England, St. George's Cross, and Holland. A similar pennant is used by the U.S. Navy when churches are in progress.
