The Problem SwitchProxy fixes
If you work with more than one proxy on a regular basis, you probably know how annoying it is
to keep track of them; not to mention the number of clicks it takes to switch between.
SwitchProxy is a toolbar you can use to organize your proxies. You can add, edit and remove
them from the master list. When you need to use one, just select it from the list and click apply.
Since it's a toolbar, it's always easily accessible.
After the SwitchProxy toolbar is installed you can add as many proxies to it that you want.
- Click on "Add" from the SwitchProxy toolbar. This will open a dialog with two text fields
- Enter a label (Proxy Name) you for the proxy as you would like to see it in the list.
- Enter the proxy URL
- Click 'OK'
- Select the proxy you would like to use from the list
- Click the 'Apply' button in the SwitchProxy toolbar
- You should see the text change in the status box
- If it was sucessful, it will display a message like, "Using ProxyName", where ProxyName is the name from the list
- If an error dialog pops up and the status message reads "Could not load ProxyName" then there is something wrong with your proxy. Most likely the browser could not connect to, or read, the proxy.
- NOTE: When you switch to a proxy, this proxy will be used in all tabs and windows.
- Select the proxy you would like to edit from the list
- Click the 'Edit' button in the SwitchProxy toolbar
- Change the label and/or proxy url
- Click 'OK'
- Select the proxy you would like to remove from the list
- Click the 'Remove' button in the SwitchProxy toolbar
- Select 'OK' when the confirmation dialog appears
NOTE: Currently you can only modify the SwithProxy options in Firefox.
