One of a kind...  Our Special Forces are, without doubt, the best trained members in our organization.  After taking the Ranger Courses Phases 1-2, our members take the Special Forces Training Program (that last about a year to complete). Our Special Operations Forces (SpecOps) are our first response team in our community programs (Emergency Services Command, Disaster Relief Program and Search & Rescue).  Our SpecOps Program includes the following trainings:

To be selected for the SpecOps trainings, individuals must met the following criteria
(may vary from unit to unit):

Be a Ranger graduate (Ranger Phases 1-2 graduate)

Being recommended by the local commander for SpecOps training

Must have at least 2 years of service with 1 year as a Non Commisioned Officer

Must be an SSG for SPECOPS ASST TNG and SFC for SPECOPS LDR TNG

OBJETIVES

    The Special Operations Groups (S.O.G.) are a branch of United States Military Cadets - Puerto Rico (USMC-PR).  Our main objetive is to erradicate youth delinquency by providing our members courses, trainings, and activities in a military enviroment.  Their mission is to support USMC-PR's main objetives and missions, by providing a specially trained force to assist in the following areas:

  1. Emergency Services Command (E.S.C.)
  2. Disaster Relief Program (D.R.P.)
  3. Search and Rescue (S.A.R.)
    These programs are included inside the USMC-PR's main objetives, but the SOGs will carry out the weight of those missions by providing manpower, equipment and transportation for each situation.

    The entry pre-requirements will be:

  1. Being a member of United States Military Cadets, Inc. in good standing (that means: NO DEBTS or CONDUCT MISBEHAVIOR) and, for at least, two years of service (or equivalent).
  2. Must be a Commisioned Officer, Warrant Officer and/or Non-commisioned Officer for at least 6 months of that same service.
  3. Must have approved at least one Primary M.O.S. (Military Occupational Skill) and at least one Infantry-Oriented Secondary M.O.S.
  4. Must passed a Common Member Skills Test (C.M.S.T.), and a Physical Fitness Training Test (P.F.T.T.) with a score of 70% or more at both of them.
    After that, the member must pass a entry battery test, that encopased all USMC-PR's M.O.S. (Medical Specialist, Military Police, Infantry, Recon, Ranger 1 & Ranger 2) with a score of 70% or more.
COMMAND STRUCTURE:

    The U.S.M.C.-P.R. SOGs will have a mission profile similar to those of the United States Special Forces.  Their motto will be: Any time, Any place, Any Mission.  Our command structure will be assembled like that of a Operational Detachment (ODa) with a manpower of 12 members, cross-trained in key M.O.S. (Military Occupational Skills), needed for the realization of any mission:

    In future installments, the USMC-PR main command will open new SOG ODa's with different mission profiles, like mission support and support services units.  Among the members of the 1st SOG ODa, there would be extracurricular activities' command crew that will set the fees for extracurricular activities (such as trips, parties, fund raising activities, and so on).  All of them will be elected by the SOG ODa members for a term of three months (a full training trimester):     Meanwhile, the main SOG ODa will have the following rank & command structure (Their ranks will be United States Marine Corps-type):

UNIFORMS:

    The main training and mission uniform will be the black RANGER BATTLE DRESS UNIFORM (RBDU) with the following insignias:

    All members must have this uniform by the 1st SOG ODa Field Training Exercise (SOG ODa FTX) to be announced either online and/or by word-of-mouth basis:
 

EQUIPMENT

    The main SOG ODa equipment will be as follows (can vary from mission):

  1. Watch cap (black)
  2. Mountain facecover (black)
  3. Snaplink (black)
  4. Tubular chair (black)
  5. Paintball gun or BB rifle/pistol (ammo and gas will be provided by the WPS NCO & ASST.)
  6. L.B.E. - 3 (suspender, pistol belt, canteen w/cover, MX-99 flashlight, ammo pouchs, 1st aid kit)
  7. Rucksack (with or without metal frame)
  8. Cammo Sticks or Cammo Compact
    Other equipment will be supplied by each section's NCOs and/or issued by the staff (like RATELOs, radios, ammo, medical supplies, maps, surveillance equipment, tents, and so on).
FEES

    The will be a standard membership fee of $10.00 monthly and a $5.00 fee for each assembly date.  Also, for each SOG ODa mission, additional fees will be announced by the DET CDR or XO.


ASSEMBLIES' FEES

        All fees will be collected by the treasury OIC/NCOIC and will be used IAW the SOG ODa mission.  The first fee (admission fee) would be used for the adquisition of the insignias, such as:
