INTEREST RISES IN BOORMAN
Anthony Boorman's goal against Northumberland Heath has apparently done nothing to aid his quest for a move to a Premiership club.

Several top managers were quizzed abou their interest in his services, and they were all keeping their cards close to their chest.

"No, completely not interested," was Jose Mourinho's response when asked of the Boorman speculation. "The boy is good, but we have no interest in buying or changing anything. Our interest is to keep Shaun Wright-Phillips - who was supposedly involved in any deal. No way. It's not true."

"I am currently happy with my squad, and as a result I will not be signing anybody in January," was Arsene Wenger's reply when quizzed.

Anthony's boyhood heroes Manchester United were just as quick to brush off the speculation. "I don't know who the hell he is," said Alex Ferguson during his press conference today. "If I did, I would be able to give you a yes or no. But since he could be any Tom, Dick or Harry I'm not at liberty to comment. We're chasing a Premiership title here, I don't personally have the time to check out every player in the country."

One manager was very interested in taking Boorman to his club - Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce. "He's just the sort of player we need here. Arrogant, big-headed, and full of hot air. Plus he scores the odd goal," Psycho was heard to say. Tottenham manager Martin Jol plans a £31 raid on the club in January for Boorman. He was quoted as saying "he's English, we'll take him. At least he's better than Stalteri."
