INTRODUCTION:
TEMPLES RENOVATION GROUP was formed to renovate neglected Temples.
The Renovation of SEVEN Dilapidated / Ancient Temples (500 hundred years old)
have been taken up and COMPLETED.

KUMBABHISHEKAM PERFORMED FOR ALL SEVEN TEMPLES,
INCLUDING SRI VARADARAJA PERUMAL TEMPLE SHOWN BELOW.

SRI KOTHANDA RAMAR TEMPLE, MULLANGUDI VILLAGE,
THE EIGHTH (RUINED) TEMPLE, IS TO BE RENOVATED SHORTLY.

KUMBABHISHEKAM Was Performed On 04-05-2007.

Heavy Bushes / Roots on the Temple Structures and Vimaanam, badly damaged the Beautiful Sculptures.
With the guidance of Agricultural Experts, huge deeply penetrated roots / bushes were removed.
This 1200-Year old Ancient Temple was Renovated utilising the latest Building Technology at a cost of Rs.7 Lakhs.

STHALAPURANAM

This temple was built around 900 years ago by Chola Kings near Kumbakonam in honour of Goddess Lakshmi, also named "Thirumangai" with her Lord all Bestowing Sri Varadarajar. This place came to be known as Thirumangaicheri.

Sri Venkateswara Perumal appeared and Graced a dying Sarpent (Naagam). This Temple was once a famous 'Naagadhosha Parihaara Sthalam'.

Sri Perumal Sannadhi, Sri Thaayaar Sannadhi, Sri Nagar Sannadhi and Sri Narasimhar Sannadhi and Main Vimaanam are all having Ancient Sculptural and Architectural Beauty. The idol of Sri Anjaneyar has a special feature, in that HE has HIS right leg forward - ready to rescue his Devotees.

Saint Thirumangai Aazhwar visited this famous temple and worshipped the Presiding Deities.

8. Sri Kothandaramar Temple,
Mullangudi Village, near Kumbakonam.

Both Sri Anjaneya and Sri Garudhazhwar had Dharshan of Sri Rama and Sri Seetha Devi at Mullangudi, as per Sri Rama's desire. This Dharshan of Sri Seetha Piraatti, later helped Sri Anjaneya to identify Sri Seetha Devi in the Ashoka Vanam in Sri Lanka, when he handed over Kanayaazhi (Ring) to Sri Seetha Piratti. Sri Kothanda Ramar Temple at this an important Sthalam, is now in dilapidated condition.

A sum of Rs.2,50,000/- (Rupees two and half lakhs) is estimated to renovate this Temple.
