Tribute to Naka, choir
- director,
- leader, and
- singer
.

In the life of any organization or group, there is always that lull or interval when its continuity or even survival is threatened or challenged. In those moments when the St. Elijah Choir faltered and needed direction, Natalie M. Rebich was in the wings, ready to take the tiller and keep the ship on course. She not only filled the breach, but infected the choir with her abundant exuberance, optimism and unfailing commitment. These she gave voluntarily, enthusiastically, and in generous proportions. She enriched us with her zest for life, joy of singing and love and her Serbian Orthodox Faith. Her departure left a void in both our ranks and in our hearts.

May this choral adventure on tape be our tribute and humble gratitude to you "Naka," for doing so much for so many of us. Let our voices echo the spirit and beauty of the legacy you have left behind. So Natalie - May you once again from your special but silent podium give us your familiar and unforgettable "DO-LA-FA.¡¨ Ingrate full recognition we dedicate this taped liturgical offering to your memory.

Explanation of Eastern Orthodox Liturgical hymns

1. The glorious Elijah, angelic in body, pil-lar of prophets, another forerunner of Christ¡¦s corning, has sent grace upon Eliseus from on high, to heal ailments and to cleanse lepers; and he also provides with healing those who honor him.

2. Beneath thy mercy, O Virgin, Mother of God, we come unto Thee; despise not our prayers in our necessities, but deliver us from all iniquities; for Thou alone art pure and blessed.

3. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who tres-pass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

4. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen. Only-begotten Son and immortal Word of God, Who for our salvation didst will to become incarnate of the holy Birthgiver and ever-virgin Mary. Who without change didst become man and wast crucified, Who art one of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit: 0 Christ our God, trampling down death by death, save us.

5. The Beatitudes

6. Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ, who rose from the dead, 0 Son of God, save us who sing to Thee: Alleluia!

7. Holy God! Holy Mighty! Holy Immortal! Have mercy on us. (Thrice)

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen. Holy Immortal! Have mercy on us. Holy God! Holy Mighty! Holy Immortal! Have mercy on us.

8. Alleluia

9. Let us who mystically represent the Cherubim, and who sing the thrice-holy hymn to the life-creating Trinity, now lay aside all earthly cares.

10. That we may receive the King of All, who comes invisibly unborn by the angelic hosts. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

11. The Litany of Supplication

Let us complete our prayer unto the Lord.

For the precious Gifts now offered, let us pray to the Lord.

For this holy temple, and for those who enter with faith, reverence, and the fear of God, let us pray to the Lord.

For our deliverance from all affliction, wrath, and necessity, let us pray to the Lord.

Help us, save us, have mercy on us, and keep us, 0 God, by Thy grace.

(After each pet petition, Lord have mercy is sung)

That the whole day may be perfect, holy, peaceful, and sinless, let us ask of the Lord.

An angel of peace, a faithful guide, a guardian of our souls and bodies, let us ask of the Lord.

Pardon and remission of our sins and transgressions, let us ask of the Lord.

All things that are good and profitable for our souls, and peace for the world, let us ask of the Lord.

That we may complete the remaining time of our life in peace and repentance, let us ask of the Lord.

A Christian ending to our life: painless, blameless, and peaceful; and a good defense before the dread judgement seat of Christ, let us ask of the Lord.

(After each petition, Grant it O Lord, is sung) Commemorating our most holy, most pure, most blessed and glorious Lady, the Birthgiver of God and ever-virgin Mary with all the saints, let us commend our selves and each other, and all our life unto Christ our God.

Choir: To Thee 0 Lord.

Through the compassion¡¦s of Thine only-begotten Son, with whom Thou art blessed, together with Thine all-holy, good, and life-creating Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages.

Amen.

Peace be unto all.

And to your spirit.

Let us love one another, that with one mind we may confess.

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! The Trinity, one in essence, and undivided!

12. The Creed

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only-begotten, begotten of the Father before all ages.
Light of Light; true God of true God; begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man; and was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried.
And the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead; whose Kingdom shall have no end.
And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets. In one Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.
I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

13. Canon of the Eucharist

Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest!

Choir: Amen.

Choir: Amen.

Choir: We praise Thee.
We bless Thee.

And we pray unto Thee, 0 our God.

14. The Lords Prayer

15. Psalm 68:

Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered; let those who hate Him flee from before His face!
As smoke vanishes, so let them vanish, as wax melts before the fire!
So the sinners will perish before the face of God; but let the righteous be glad!
Let them rejoice before God: Yea, let them exceedingly rejoice. Sing unto God, sing praises to His name.

10. Blessed be the name of the Lord, hence forth and forevermore.
