Physiognomy is a form of divination. It is the art of reading the human body to reveal divine characteristics relating to be their emotional and physical well being both in the present and future. It can be used to tell a lot about someone’s characteristic traits, personality and possible capabilities.
Trismegistus’ proverb, as above so below, can be applied to physiognomy as through physiognomy our bodies can spell out the divine plan. It is one of the oldest forms of divination and was very important in the ancient world. Zopyrus was a Physiognomist and read Socrates’ features revealing his character, which Socrates confirmed to be true before his study of philosophy. Healers can also use physiognomy to identify things such as energy blockages and identify difficulties, which may be stopping the person from healing. Appearance often plays an unconscious role in people’s assumptions of others. This is a form of physiognomy. There are many different forms of physiognomy based on different areas of the body. Some people practise one or two of these actively while others look at the whole body. Physiognomy can be useful in daily life to give a lot of details about yourself or others. As with any form of divination we can use the information gathered to help us to know what to expect from them or what we should also expect from ourselves. |
