What is Stampede Wrestling?
Stampede Wrestling is a small professional wrestling
federation based out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, responsible for the birth
of many of today's professional wrestling stars. Stampede got its start
in the before the 1950s and continued well into the 1980s, until 1989 when
it folded after being bought out by the WWF.
Recently, Bruce Hart revived Stampede in 1999
and began promoting cards in the Alberta area. With an interesting mix
of old stars and young guns, Stampede is going strong again.
This site has grown out of my love for Stampede,
having watched it as a child and now as nostalgia as an an adult. The legacy
of Stampede is one of sportsmanship and respect for the sport of professional
wrestling.
