From a first glance, most people would look at Angeni and figure her to be shallow and only interested in her hair, make-up, and clothes. But deep down inside, Angeni truly has a good heart and is very proud of her heritage and past. She is often reading books about the Native American people, and loves to listen to the elders as they have storytelling times every week or so. While she is proud of her people, she also believes that they should stop living in the past and get aquainted with the present and the future. She wants more of her people to take a stand when it comes to dealing with politics, issues in the world, and other such things. This, of course, brings her to odds with her parents, who like many others of the people in the reservation she grew up in, believes that the outside world is not "their place", and therefore they should have nothing to do with it.
But despite that, Angeni often keeps up with the current events in the world and often teaches the younger children after school a few "pop culture" songs and dances.....much to the dismay of the elders. While she does love her baby sister Wakanda, her birth was sort of a shock to her, as she was the only child for so long. But over time, she got used to her...although the 2 year old DOES often annoy her to no end.
Dancing is one of Angeni's favorite passtimes, and often participates in many of the Native American dances at storytime, pow-wows, or other Native American events. Being a Libra, she is sometimes fair but very critical on other people's work or what they say or do, but she has learned how to curb it alot, since she now understands that what a person says can have a major impact on someone else. Since she is always keeping herself looking the best, she has had some very handsome young men and suitors asking for her parent's permission to court and even marry her, but Angeni often shuns them off. In her heart, she feels she is meant for a great destiny, as her dreams she began to have on her 16th birthday tell her. Little does she know, her dreams or more real than she ever imagined.She always had a natural ability to sense when something is wrong or when danger is around. Her grandfather...before he died... often told her that she was meant for a very important destiny, and should never ignore those feelings. Her parents became friends with a wealthy English couple that visited the reservation on vacation to America, and through them, they applied Angeni to a school for gifted children in London, England, since Angeni did have some of the highest grades in school. Surprised, she agreed to go when she got accepted, but secretly hopes to come back and attend Gleska University to become a teacher like she dreamed one day.
