Not much is known about Jeneta's past. Her parents moved to Lagos from a small village in Nigeria, and died mysteriously a few months after she was born. She was placed in the city's orphanage. When she was about three years old, a couple from London England, visiting Nigeria with a friend, decided to visit the orphanage for themselves, since they were one of the many sponsors. The couple had lost a child themselves soon after he was born and were still mourning, and when they saw Jeneta, they couldn't resist her and adopted her nearly on the spot. From then on, they treated Jeneta as their own, giving her everything they could afford to make her life happy. Then, at about 4 years later when Jeneta was 7, the couple was blessed with their own child, a boy again. At first, Jeneta was afraid that with the new baby, her parents would not love her as much, as obviously they would have their own child and it would be of their own color and race. But she was proven wrong as they showed her through kind words that there would be enough room to love her and the new born child. Jeneta enjoys being a big sister, although she does find her little brother very annoying at times. But she does love him as though they came from the same parents, and she would never let anything happen to him.
After coming back to England with Jeneta, the couple that adopted Jeneta was faced with slight misgivings from their neighbors, as they lived in a lower middle class neighborhood. Though not as full blown as in America, they were some slight racial tensions there, especially for a couple bringing a Black child, but Jeneta's parents shielded her from it as much as they could. They also made sure she knew about how her heritage by taking her to museums and making her read books. They even agreed to keep Jeneta's true name, in hopes that somehow, she would go back and find out about her family heritage. But deep inside, Jeneta wants to find out about those things on her own. Being a Leo, Jeneta is very independent, and she often never likes depending on her parents or anyone for anything. Her fiesty spirit often got her in trouble at school, but she never allowed herself to be a "bully". She just never allowed anyone to push her around. Despite her shorter height, Jeneta is one of the more popular kids in school, which suits her just fine. But she also likes to help out the younger students too, keeping bullies away from them and showing them around. Everyone knows that if there is someone they can depend on, it's Jeneta. Although her school grades weren't that astronomical, they were still very high, and Jeneta's parents applied for her to attend a school for gifted children in London, where a friend of theirs had her granddaughter Heather attending. Weeks later, they were elated to know that she was accepted. Jeneta was surprised, but glad, knowing that there would be at least one person she would know there, as she has seen Heather from time to time in London.
