So, why join the Steel City Thunderbird Club or the VTCI?
The Pride of Ownership
As an owner or fan of a Ford Thunderbird, you already know about the qualities that make it special - styling, power, prestige - things that others take notice of.  These timeless, classic qualities add up into a thrilling package that others clamor to have.  Nostalgia, excitement, pride of ownership; things you have in common with a group that shares the same love for the Ford Thunderbird.
The Privileges of Membership
This same pride is shared by the thousands of members of the Vintage Thunderbird Club International.  VTCI members are part of an automotive-loving fraternity that is amoung the best in the world.  VTCI members are special...they love their cars, and help others who share the same desire to own a piece of motoring history.  That's why there is VTCI - to preserve 1955 - present T-birds, and help keep them going well into the 21st Century!
Why Not Go It Alone?
Sure, you could get by on your own - buying parts, performing repairs, and get frustrated when things don't go right or cost too much money.  Wouldn't it be nice to know others who have been there before you, benefit from their knowledge?  Think of the time and money you'd save by having such a resource at your fingertips.  VTCI members have recovered their dues time and again thanks to the members networking to find hard-to-get parts, specialized technical information, and perhaps the most priceless benefit of all; friendships that last for many years to come.  It's something you can't get just anywhere.
Invitation to Adventure
Here's your opportunity to share in the Personal World of VTCI.  When your application and dues are processed, you're send not only the bi-monthly "Thunderbird Scoop" and Concours Rulebook, but also an attractive windshield decal and a membership card with your VTCI Membership ID Number.  This number helps with any correspondance with the Club.  A complete Membership Roster is mailed annually to all members separate from the Scoop and Concours Rulebook.

VTCI offers books, Thunderbird apparel, and an increasing offering of other items available ONLY to VTCI members.  So share in the fun and knowledge VTCI has to offer; it may be the best investment you'll ever make!
Dare to Compare
We know there are other groups out there doing the same thing we are.  VTCI has been around since 1968 (originally known as the Vintage Thunderbird Club of America - The Squarebird Society), something the other groups can't even come close to emulating.  When considering other groups, ask yourself:

"What do I get for my money?"

Do I get a Membeship Roster?  VTCI provides an annual Membership Roster for its members, with additional information that members can reference throughout the year.

Do I get a Concours Rulebook?  VTCI has availabe for purchase by its members a Concours Rulebook as well as Original Factory Specification rulebooks which cover specific generations of T-Birds.

Do I get a quality publication?  The "Thunderbird Scoop" is an award-winning magazine - not a newsletter - which provides members with exciting color photography on its covers of member-ownerd T-birds, articles which focus on the many facets of owning, restoring,  and maintaining a T-bird, and columns which feature some of the best writers in the T-bird hobby.  "Thunderbird Scoop" focuses strictly on T-birds - no fluff or filler - just good solid information which T-bird owners want and use.

Does the club hold sanctioned events in my area? VTCI and its chapters conduct up to FIVE sanctioned Regional Conventions and an International Convention around the U.S. and Canada during the year.  This give you a chance to participate without going clear across the country.  Others just hold a single national convention, usually within the same geographic area, year after year.

Is there a technical archive available? VTCI offers reprints of technical articles for its members, taking advantage of the 30+ year colleciton of articles printed in the "Thunderbird Scoop".
Of course it does!  If you are interested in becoming a member of the Steel City Thunderbirds fill out the membership form.  If you have any other questions about the club, drop us a line.  If you live outside the region and are still interested in joining the VTCI, contact them via their website - www.vintagethunderbirdclub.org
