Common non-pathogenic organisms from aquaria
Hydra
Mite from some old fish food
Oligochaete worm. These feed on fish waste and are common in filters and gravel. This is a baby at about 0.7 mm
Another Oligochaete perhaps 2mm. (Tubifex are in the class Oligochaeta, phylum Annelida as well. Most of these are edible by the fish.)
Mosquitos Eggs, larvae, and pupae.

leech, the type that you find with Tubifex worms.
More leeches, the type that comes in on aquatic plants. Not the fish-sucking type though.
Planaria in a drop of water (with dime). Harmless but annoying.

World's smallest flowering aquatic plant, on a penny.
Gnats A fly whose larvae are often found in fish tanks and filters.
Vorticella
Acineta A suctorian ciliate protozoan. Nonpathogenic kind. This one was found on some aquatic plants.
Stonefly exoskeleton on the side of a bridge at Fauntleroy Creek. The head has fallen off as the stonefly emerged and flew off.
