Kari got married on 12-27-01 (A&K Rabbitry)
My friend, Kari Rudick is now Kari Farmer! She was married in Wichita. She had a beautiful wedding that for most of us was very tearful because we love her and Chris so much. Her colors were yellow and blue, She brought them together very nicely. Her hair was perfect and her dress was perfect and everything was perfect. For all you out there who think fairy tales don't come true, think again. Kari and Amy both have a wonderful relationship with each other and their husbands who treat them like gold. Anyone who comes across them, well, you can't help but to love them. Congratulations Kari! I wish the best for both of you.
The funny thing at the wedding was that when Amy was introducing her husband to our rabbit friends who haven't had the chance to meet him, they were introducing themselves as "Hi, I'm Netherland Dwarfs." We were introducing ourselves by breed instead of names! It is so normal for us to introduce this way that we caught ourselves doing it at the wedding. We got a good laugh out of it. Also the rabbit people didn't quite recognize each other at first because we were used to seeing each other with bunny fluff all over us. As Mary Carney said "We clean up quite nicely, don't we." :)
Jody had on a pretty little red dress with black shoes. All were new and she proudly showed them to everyone. She had a lot of fun playing with the other girls who were her age. Kaleb found some of his bunny friends and visited with them quite a bit. They both had a lot of fun as I did as well.
Thanksgiving 2001
Our Thanksgiving started the night before. My husband (David) and the children and I went out to eat for Thanksgiving dinner together. As soon as we were done Kaleb and I went to Kansas City. Katina and Don waited up to meet us as we came into town. The next day (Thanksgiving day) Kaleb and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with our family and friends. After dinner Katina, Don, Dave (a friend) and Kaleb and myself went to the plaza to watch the plaza lights come on. That was so neat. There were horses pulling couches and Cinderella coaches. The horses were glittery and had come straight from a fairy tale. I remember riding in one of these with my dad when I was a child. There was a wonderful choir that everyone stood close to hear. People were on top of buildings to see and hear everything below. People were everywhere. After the choir there were fire works that took your breath away. For a moment I felt as though I were in a story book ending. The day after Thanksgiving morning was very challenging. We had to get Katina up out of bed. :o) Finally we were successful and began to get ready to go to Branson Mo. We got a hold of Don and invited him along. Then Katina noticed a hole in my jeans close to my bottom. She couldn't believe I was going to wear them and wanted to save the family name by putting a patch on them. After that we were out of there. When we got to Branson, we almost had to sleep in the car. There were no vacancies. Every motel, hotel, and cabin were completely packed. After searching and searching and about ready to give up hope, we finally found a room that was open only because someone had a reserved room and hadn't come in yet. (It was so late.) Up early the next morning we were on our way to Silver Dollar City. This was the 1st time Kaleb and I had ever been there. It was so beautiful with all of the lights everywhere. Christmas music rang out at us and the smells from the food stands was incredible. Kaleb had so much fun going up into all of the playhouses for the kids. We met "Tinker" the talking Christmas tree who was a riot. We looked around some of the shops and drank lots of hot cocoa with big marshmallows. "Fire In The Hole" was interesting, Kaleb loved it. We went on one of the roller coasters twice and went on a tour of the cave. The cave was lots of fun. We watched the Light Parade with lots of excitement. It was so pretty. We rode the train. It was much further of a ride then what I had expected. The train stopped in the middle of the ride, There was an older gentleman sitting in a rocking chair in front of a house. He told the story of Jesus so beautifully that I almost began to cry. As he told his story, The Manger scene, made of lights, began to come on with angels all around. Silver Dollar City had 4 miles of Christmas lights. There were so many more cool things that we saw and got to do. Trying to tell about them all would take forever, though I have come close. Even looking for our car became an adventure in itself. We went through the water park after leaving Silver Dollar City, they had tons and tons of awesome lights. Then we went back to our room just to get up early the next morning again. We visited the Ripley's Believe it or not building. That was a different experience. Kaleb loved it. We then went to the fish hatchery and looked around there. There was a really cool bus there that we didn't have time to ride. (Maybe next time.) It is called The Duck. It of course drives on land and will drive right into the lake and ride as a boat. We spent some time at the lake and then started on our long drive home. Happy Holidays.
