Letter Writing

handmade paper

make a thin glue by watering down some you have, and glue dried flowers to some pretty paper. Decorate with stickers, rubber stamps, or glitter.
Put some confetti in the envelope so there is a little surprise when it is opened. Most printers come with software for making cards and stationary, you can even make personalised stationary. Decorate your envelopes to match.
Make your own envelopes by carefully taking apart an envelope you like , trace on old calendars, pretty magazine picture, wrapping paper or craft paper. Use a glue stick to seal the edges, use labels to put your return address and the senders address on, tape to seal. I usually put the name and addy on the back side of the envelope so the pretty from is left plain.
A good book for this with templates is called
"The Envelope Mill"

Many of the supplies in the rubber stamping and scrapbooking sections of your craft store make great cards, with no rubber stamping involved!
Get some of the blank cards, they come in lots of neat papers! Use some of the pretty scrapbook papers as a background, with maybe a die-cut placed over it, write you message around the edge of the vard, use glitter, pretty pens, ribbon bits, charms, dried flowers etc! Get creative. This is a fun project that even younger children will have great success with. If you dont like your handwriting you can even get letters that are stickers, and use those for your sentiments.
