Day One |
Saturday July 25, 1998 |
We arrived @ our hotel around noon. Check in time was at 3pm but since our room was ready, they let us check in early! We settled in, then walked around the French Quarter until our 6pm dinner reservations @ Crescent City Brewery. After dinner, it started raining so we decided to call it a night and get a good night's rest for the next day. |

Day Two |
Sunday July 26, 1998 |
We woke up early to spend the day at the Aquarium of the Americas and the Audobon Zoo. We had breakfast @ Cafe Du Monde. Here is a picture of Michael enjoying a beinget and milk. The cafe was so crowded that we had to order from the take out window and eat on the outside of the cafe, where the chairs were chained were the table. We could barely pull the chair away to sit. |
We first went to the Aquarium. It was incredible. Walking around the first corner and seeing the "cave"of sea creatures was breath-taking. |
The zoo was our next stop. We had some confusion as to where to catch the St. Charles Streetcar but we finally found it and only had to wait a minute before we were picked up. We rode through the beautiful Garden District and deboarded at the Audobon Park. I strongly suggest looking for the zoo shuttle if the day is hot. It was over 90 degrees when we were there and we walked the one mile through the park/golf course without water and we thought we were going to dehydrate before we got to the zoo. |
The zoo was phenomenal. I've heard that it rates second best in the world next to the San Diego Zoo and I believe it now! |
We had dinner reservations at the Royal Cafe at 6:30pm. |
I was excited to find out that Seven Mary Three was playing at the House of Blues. We purchased our tickets for $13.00 the day we arrived at the ticket office on Decatur St. The concert was great. HOB was huge, 2 floors. Anywhere you stood you had an excellent view of the stage. |

Day Three | Monday July 27, 1998 |
Michael & I walked around and took in the feel of the French Quarter. We did some window shopping and took some gorgeous pictures like the one you see here. We did some swimming in our hotel pool until it started thundering so we decided to spend a nice cozy night in our hotel room. |
Day Four | Tuesday July 28, 1998 |
Michael & I took the Voodo/Cemetery tour on our last day. This was highly informative and very interesting. Our tour guide was very knowledgable (he's written 2 books on New Orleans cemeteries). |
We walked around Jackson Square and went inside the St. Louis Cathedral, which you see on the left. |
We decided to save our shopping for the last day, We had looked around for the past few days and bargained shop. I got a tee shirt for $4. 00! Beautiful drawn pictures on authentic New Orleans slates for the parents. *Beware of ATM's in the French Quarter. Most wanted $3.oo to use it. Totally ridiculus, if you ask me. We spent over $10 in ATM charges.* |
