summers at my parents' camp there. I have been to every graveyard from
Sherbrooke to Quoddy, but I found one or two listed here that I did not know
about. I tried finding the Slate R ck Graveyard this summer without luck. If
anyone knows the location, please, let me know. We camp on the road and have
travelled the area so much, but have never come across the site. Currently, I
am gathering information on the families of Liscomb Mills and the surrounding

I can't tell you how thrilled I was to find your website and through it,
information on ANSEL ASHTON, buried in the St. Barnabas Anglican Church
Cemetary. I remember hearing about Ansel from the time I was a child. My
grandmother, JOSEPHINE SARAH JOHNSO , taught school in Ecum Secum. She met
Ansel and they fell in love and made plans to be married. Unfortunately, Ansel
developed consumption and died on the day that they were supposed to wed, Nov.
15, 1903. He was the love of my grandmother's life and hough she moved to Maine
and married my grandfather several years later, she never forgot Ansel. My
mother told me of finding an old trunk tucked away in their attic that had the
wedding dress, ring, and a song sheet for Loch Lomand, all meant for her we
ding to Ansel. She always had a sadness about her. Ansel became her muse, and
she went on to write great poetry. I can't thank you enough for bringing Ansel
"alive" again by making him real. I hope to visit someday and pay my respects.

Found you site to be most interesting as I tried to track down my WINTERS'
ancestors. I looking specifically for my paternal great grandfather, John
(middle name unknown) WINTERS, born 1844/1845, parents names unknow. He was
from "the mainland", moved to ngonish (on Cape Breton Island, circa the late
1860s, married my great grandmother, Margery Jackson of Ingonish in December
1870 and lived the rest of his life there. In the 1871 Census, he was a
resident of Ingonish, age 26, indicated he was born in Nova Scotia, a
fisherman, was of English origin and Church of England. It's been suggested he
may be from the Beaver Harbour area given this profile. Does anyone have any

from 84th Regiment after Am. Rec. in 1784 in Windsor Hants Co. Is this the same
