Steve Jansen News Page! |
Updated January 20, 2004 |
* Hello, and a belated Happy New Year 2004 to all! Sorry about the long delay in updates. We do have some good news though, as Steve is now preparing to hit the road with Italian singer Alice. Steve will of course be playing drums in Alice's backing band. I will post any tour dates I come across here! *Great news! That exciting feature I promised in my previous update is now live and online for everybody to see: My brand new exclusive interview with the man himself, Steve Jansen! I am so thrilled that Steve was able to take some time to join me for a more indepth interview, and I know that none of you will be disappointed! Be sure and check it out now right here! Also, be sure and sign the new guestbook on the site map page. Any comments or questions are very welcome! *Hello everybody! Be sure to check out the all new look for the Medium Productions website and enjoy all of the great new features, including a brand new (and very sharp looking) online store with secure ordering systems and a great new forum where fans can discuss the Medium Productions projects. It is really great and I am sure everybody will enjoy it, so be sure and register for the forum today! Hats off to a great job by Debi Zornes and the whole crew at Medium! *Greeting, everybody! Sorry about the delay in the updates, but there is an exciting feature coming very, very soon to this site that I don't want to reveal yet, but please stay tuned and visit again regularly, because let's just say that you won't be disappointed! In the meantime, David Sylvian has released the first album under the new Samadhi label, entitled Blemish. You can now purchase it directly from David's official page (which of course features the one and only Mr. Jansen as well!) or from your local retail music stores. You will be happy you did! I will check back in with all of you very soon. *Hello all! I am proud to announce a brand new interview I just conducted with one Mr. David Sylvian for my Rock Interviews site. This is a rare treat for all of us Japan and Japan-related project fans here, and it was a thrill to have David as my guest. He has lots of great things to say about Steve, the Samadhi Sound label, reflections on the past and present, and so much more, including the first release for the Samadhi Label! I hope you all will enjoy it as much as I had doing it! * Be sure to check out the brand new Page 2 of the Steve photo gallery, featuring a collection of great photos of Steve from the David Sylvian Everything & Nothing tour taken by Jan Van Oldenmark. There are also some more new photos on Page 1, courtesy of Clive at Fetafunk and Dirk Tholenaar! * Currently on E-Bay, a gentleman in Nottingham, England is selling two photo prints that he claimed to have bought from an art and photo exhibit featuring Steve Jansen in London around 1983. He is backing the prints with a signed letter of authenticity that he claims Steve signed to him at the time of purchase. Anybody interested in taking a look at the auction can check this link out. The auction is due to expire on February 26 (please note that I, the webmaster of this site, can in no way guarantee the authenticity of the items being sold. The link is being given just out of curiosity...thanks. B.D.) * Just received an E-mail from Richard Chadwick of Opium Productions (David Sylvian's management), and he confirmed that Steve and David are indeed in the studio right now working on new material, but it is still in the very early stages, so there is not much to speak of yet as far as what kind of material they are turning out, but you'd better believe that we are in store for some great new music very soon! * It has been revealed on DavidSylvian.com (still under construction) that Steve and David are getting ready to unveil a brand new record label to be called Samadhi. You can now sign up for a mailing list that will notify you of the launch of the new site at the link above to David's site. This is incredibly exciting news, but it does make you wonder how this will affect Steve's involvement in Medium Productions, if at all! *According to Debi Zornes of Medium Productions, the site is currently getting ready to undergo a few changes and some great new features are to be added soon. Be sure to keep checking back at Medium to see what develops. * On the Medium website, it has been revealed that Steve and David are in the early stages of a new partnership, although details are very scant right now. If you ask me, this looks to be a great new year with news like this! * Japan was recently voted into the top 100 British Bands of all time on the Virgin Radio Poll, coming in at number 95. * According to EMI records, there will be some remasters coming of their Japan catalogue (Gentlemen Take Polaroids, Tin Drum, Oil On Canvas, and Exorcising Ghosts) coming later this year. Stay tuned on this one. |
