When I told my dear friend Kit that we were coming to this part of Utah, she told me that her parents had met at the Bryce Canyon Lodge ... I decided then that I would make sure we got at least one picture of the Lodge just for Emma and John ...

On the National Register of Historic Places, the Lodge was built by the Union Pacific in 1925 as part of the "Loop Tour" of Zion, Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks and Grand Canyon (North rim) National Parks. Of the four original lodges, the Bryce Canyon Lodge is the only one still standing. It is so beautiful and so peaceful here ... a perfect place to fall in love.

When we left the Lodge, we decided to check out one of the roads near the Park that we had heard about and see if we could find Pine Lake. After traversing some rather bumpy and twisty, turny roads, we found the lake ...

Isn't this lovely? Toward the left, we could still see a thin layer of ice on the water. It was a lovely end to a great day.

Later!
