IT'S FISHNET FERGUSON
Woman's Day, 20th July, 1998

Tim Ferguson has the answers ready for the day his eight-year-old son starts asking him difficult questions - such as, "Daddy, why are you wearing high heels?"

"Yes, I am all set," says the former Doug Anthony Allstar. "The answer, of course, will be, 'Ask your mother."

The 34-year-old comedian and TV presenter has been tottering about in 12cm stilettos, thanks to his casting as the sweet transvestite Frank N. Furter in The New Rocky Horror Show, opening in Sydney of July 29.

"My children are thrilled that Daddy finally seems to have joined their dressing-up game.

The other day I was practicing around the house in my high heels, when suddenly I found myself being followed by an eight-year-old Batman, four-year-old Wonder Woman and three-year-old Princess something-or-other."

Starring alongside Tottie Goldsmith's Janet and Glenn Butcher's Brad, Tim is relishing the chance to return to the stage after all these years in TV.

And he loves Frank N. Furter.

"He... she... it... is a wonderful character and at the moment I am trying to master the tension needed to bring it to life. You've got to walk like a girl, but in a macho way. Drag has never excited me as a pasttime, but I must say I do look rather good in costume."

Tim is also busy writing Madhouse, his second novel which will be out by Christmas.

After that he's looking forward to spending time with wife Victoria and the children - playing dress-ups perhaps.
