He inspired people to pack their toothbrushes and head off on holiday, and toured the world himself as part of the Doug Anthony Allstars. Apart from drawing the odd doodle of himself, Tim Ferguson is pulling on the stockings as Frank'n'Furter in The New Rocky Horror Show, opening July 21 in Sydney.

TIM: A perfect Sunday is one you sleep through and miss entirely.

TIM: A ticket to New York City.
TVW: What was the worst job you ever had to do?
TIM: When I was a kid we lived in country NSW and every year we'd castrate the lambs. The lambs are still screaming, Clarice.
TVW: You spot a $50 note in the gutter while walking down a busy city street. What do you do?
TIM: Summon a police officer who will see the note is returned to its rightful owner.
TVW: Have you ever gone on a blind date. If not, would you?
TIM: I've gotten blind on a few dates but I always knew them.
TVW: Have you got a personal motto or doctrine by which you try to live?
TIM: There are two kinds of people in the world, those who think there are two kinds of people and those who don't.
TVW: What was the best thing your mum ever cooked for you?
TIM: A Sara Lee Danish. She baked it juuuust right.
TVW: If you could sing a duet with any artist, who would it be?
TIM: Islands In The Stream with Kylie, because it's cooler than a Nick Cave number.
TVW: Name the person who has most influenced your life.
TIM: My beautiful young wife, Victoria, has been my biggest and best influence. She's way smarter than me and treats me like dirt (but only if I've been good...)
TVW: Is there someone you have worked with who has stayed in your heart and mind?
TIM: Working with Don Lane remains one of my fondest memories. The man is a living legend and knows everything about entertainment. I base my life on his teachings.
TVW: Do you believe in the saying: Anything that doesn't kill you makes you stronger?
TIM: No. Some things make my knees tremble.
