...TV1, meanwhile, has commissioned a 13-part comedy series, Shock Jock, conceived by Tim Ferguson and will see Ferguson moving into a hands-on production role. According to TV1 head Marie Jacobson, it's a career move Ferguson has long wanted to make, and reflects the unique enviroment of pay TV can provide.
Jacobson says the series is specifically conceived and written for the TV1 audience. Set in the mid-1980's, it follows the fortunes of a radio talk-back host who becomes a pop icon in an era famous for its greed, high-flying egos and phenomenal music - all of which sits very comfortably indeed around TV1's repertoire of classic television comedies, retro kitsch and audience skew...
