TIM'S WACKY CLOTHES
Woman's Day, Date Unknown, 1995

In Tim Ferguson's opinion there are not enough lime-green suits in the world.

"Or rich puce ones for that matter, or iridescent pink!" he laughs.

Tim, host of the nine network's unpredictable, high speed game show, Don't Forget Your Toothbrush, is fast becoming the TV industry's resident expert on wildly bright suits. He has a whole wardrobe full of them, with a different colour for ever show.

"There's a very nice lick-me orange. I feel like a giant icy pole when I've got that one on. I feel very loud. When I walk towards people they start wincing and blinking at the brightness," he beams.

"But I think purple crushed velvet is top of my next wish-list. Some nice curtain material would do the job."

The head turning suits, which are all 100 percent silk, are made by one of Melbourne's top tailors. Pino Ciano, who, Tim is sure must wear sunglasses to work. And while he says the craze for crazy suits hasn't exactly caught on with the general public, he hasn't given up hope yet that his electric ensembles are going to be a huge fashion hit-with somebody.

"I'm sure some New-Agers out there will create something called colour suit therapy," he explains. "I certainly think everybody should whack on some bright colours because it does change your mood. You can't expect to walk around looking like a giant piece of candy and expect to be the same again."
