Another reason why online relationships don't work is what I call the Real Deal Situation..
You get involved with someone you meet on the net or the chat rooms, you talk to them for months and months and you get close and you begin to have feelings for the person, you talk on the phone and you even see each others pictures....Then comes the Real Meeting!!
You worry about it for weeks and you talk to all your online friends about what you expect and what he or she expects and what you plan or want to happen. By the week before you're getting excited and a bit scared, imagining all the worse scenarios, meanwhile your trying not to tell the other person how nervous or scared you are inside.
Then the big day comes and there's a knock on the door.
You answer the door and your first thought is... Oh my goodness, it's really him or her!!!
And you talk for a while and hang out and as the time progresses you begin to realize that real life is different than chat life.
You can't go brb and talk to someone else when the conversation gets boring or goes silent. And you see that the person has some habits that they aren't able to show on a computer which could tend to get irritating.
Also, you realize this isn't the same person from the net, this is a real person who has a bad side which almost never gets shown while chatting. By the time the person is ready to leave, things have changed and your feelings which were strong online when you could imagine other things, have gone down and your not sure if you actually feel anything about them or not.
And when the person comes back online, you go out of your way to avoid them, coming up with excuses and other ways to get out of talking to them.
And pretty soon your feelings are just gone just like the illusion that is chat relationships.
