Welcome to "Two Sides of One Soul," a website created due to the need for fans of both the characters of Kagome and Kikyou from the Takahashi Rumiko anime/manga "InuYasha" to show their support.
Kagome and Kikyou are two of the main females from the series, and it's them and InuYasha himself's story that really constitutes the heart of the series, and the main themes of it as well.
Kikyou- The tragic Miko who guarded the Shikon no Tama prior to her death by Naraku setting up a betrayal between her and InuYasha. Resurrected fifty years later, she now lives with only a small part of her soul, and will not be able to rest in peace until Naraku is defeated. Kikyou is helpful, intelligent, and even after her resurrection, a very powerful Miko. Kikyou compassionately assists many people despite her tragic circumstances.
Higurashi Kagome- A modern day fifteen year old girl, who is the supposed reincarnation of Kikyou. After falling through the well to Sengoku Jidai--- 500 years in the past, she began an adventure with InuYasha to complete the Shikon no Tama she accidentally shattered. (After finding it had been reborn in her body after being burned by Kikyou's request upon her death.) Kagome is brave, kind, feisty, and determined-- she has powerful Miko abilities, and would do anything to protect and comfort her companions.
Even just a small peek into the "InuYasha" fandom reveals the fact that both Kikyou and Kagome recieve severe insulting and bashing by fans. Kagome fans bash Kikyou, and Kikyou fans are just as often guilty of bashing Kagome.
At first glance it seems there is no middle ground, and by stating you are a fan of one of the two girls, fans too often assume you dislike the other.
However- There are many of us out there that appreciate and love both Kagome and Kikyou for the wonderful characters they are, and this site was created for such fans.
