        We are Mayflower descendants through the marriage of
        Janet Murdock and Stephen Tilson.

        JANET3 MURDOCK, (John2, John1) b. Dec. 10, 1711, dau. of John and Ruth (Bartlett) Murdock; m. April 17, 1740, Stephen Tilson, by Rev. Othniel Campbell of Plympton.[Ref. Spooner-Tilson Genealogy page 147].

        Our immediate family is descended from Joseph Tilson, son of Thomas and Jennie [Jennet] Tilson, b. July 26, 1813. He married [1] Nancy [Brown] Tompkins of Erwin, Tennessee who died in 1846. He married [2] Susanna Gregory

        Rachel Tilson, daughter of Joseph Tilson and Nancy [Brown] Tompkins married Joshua Franks, my gggrandfather in Tennessee. There were four children born of the marriage:

        Nancy C. Franks b. 1856
        Sarah H. Franks b. 1861
        James T. Franks b. 1863
        Emerson A. Franks b.1866

        Joshua Franks was first married to Elizabeth V. Woodard, but there were no children born in this marriage.
