Stuart Wells as Michael Caffrey in Welcome to the very first website dedicated to the fine young actor, Stuart Wells.

05.05.02 Yahoo Geocities has stopped FTP access to member webmasters unless we pay for the privilege. I say, "No way!" It means using their crappy editor, but I really don't think with all their ads and spam that they deserve to be paid. Do you? Perhaps if they treated their members better...

News on the Stuart front: I think he's in Germany. No news directly from him, and I don't expect any. Since he went into the Army, the fans have just taken to getting to know each other and the board is a nice community, but it's lacking in Stuart-ness. He's off fighting for his country, so what can we expect, right? Maybe he will get in touch with us again sometime (hint, Stu, hint!)

Since I haven't heard from him I'm going to publish the letter he sent me a few months back for your viewing pleasure. I am going to do it bit by bit that way if Stu has any objections he can always let me know and I'll cease adding new bits, and it will at least be an update to this site!

03.09.02 Not much has been happening on the Stuart front -- he's in the Army and we haven't really heard from him apart from a suspicious message on the community board. His film, "The Reckoning" has finally found a North American distributor and is set for limited U.S. release in Fall 2002. I added links for the Reckoning site plus a couple of Peak Practice sites over on the Links page. I wonder what will become of young "Charlie Preston"?

Stuart Wells with Recruiting Officer Sergeant Liam Robinson12.21.01 Stuart has joined the Army. In keeping with his new major life change, I've adopted a new site style and look, courtesy of Colorized Pixels.

I will try and find out if he is in the 1st or 2nd Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. Each has a website, which I've listed in the Links section along with the website of Stuart's training facility and a couple of links to official pages of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. I will also be on the lookout for a way for all of us to contact him.

The Regiment's Motto is: Honi soit qui mal y pense

This news was reported by Vicky in the Community section. The report below is from The Mirror:

"ELLIOT STAR STU JOINS THE ARMY"

Billy Elliot star Stuart Wells has quit Hollywood to join the army - because acting is 'too boring' and he is fed up with being pampered.

Stuart, 19, said after signing up for the armoured infantry yesterday: 'I love acting but there's so much hanging around doing nothing.'

'I also hate people doing everything and anything for me. I like doing things for myself and need to be occupied otherwise I get restless.'

Stuart has joined the Queen's Division Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, and will start training at Bassingbourne, Cambs. He soared to fame as gay transvestite Michael in Billy Elliot and recently filmed a thriller, The Reckoning, with Willem Defoe.

The teenager, who lives with his mother in Newcastle, said: 'I suppose I'll get stick but I can give as good as I get so I'm not worried.'

'My friends think I'm crazy to be giving up acting and tell me I'm being stupid. But this is what I want to do. I have to try it or I could end up regretting it my whole life.'

The actor's agent, however, has agreed to keep Stuart on the books for a few years - just in case his new career does not work out.
