Library research has always been an important part of any academic study. It is the way in which a person can become independent in his continuing studies of the language as well as a way in which he can prove that he is familiar with and skilled in the subject material.
This course of study will help people become familiar with the available resources in Israeli libraries as well as the libraries themselves. It will explain how the libraries are organized in Israel and around the world and how to gain any information from these libraries.
Today's libraries are partially being supplanted and replaced by the Internet, which has a wealth of information. In Israel this is particularly important since the libraries are not developed as well as those in certain other western countries. For this reason the course will place a strong emphasis on locating data and doing research outside of the physical library itself.
We will also study how to go into libraries through the Internet and to discover the resources that are available in other libraries and how to obtain the materials in some cases from those libraries from other parts of the world.
