Workshop Opportunities for Students
The workshops for students concentrate on four major areas: Organizational Skills, Time Management, Study Skills, and Writing and Research.  I have titled this series "Learning Outside the Box" as the main objective is to help students find the best way for them to manage aspects of school that have historically been difficult; we simply need to think and work outside the box; we need to find methods that work, no matter how unorthodox.  The strength of this workshop is that the materials, discussion, and direction are catered to student needs.
Organizational Skills

Students gain an understanding of their level of awareness of school and school work.  Students who have a tendency to loose papers or completed assignments, or not know that an assignment was assigned would benefit greatly from this portion of the workshop.

Time Management

Many students have an unrealistic view of how long it takes to complete an assignment and meet all of the requirements.  In this workshop students focus on their specific patterns around time management with regards to school, family, work, and social life.  They leave with strategies that will help them prioritze responsibilities in order to be more successful in all aspects of their life.
Study Skills

Students who are having problems prepareing for tests and quizzes, or completing reading, writing, and reserach assignments would benefit from this portion of the workshop.  Each student will learn strategies that match their learning style(s) that will help them prepare for their exams and complete their assignments successfully.
Writing and Research

Students that struggle in school with writing and research usually do so because they do not know where to begin.  In this workshop, students are taken through the writing process beginning with a variety of different brainstoriming methods.  Students will learn how to manage a writing assignment from beginning to end and are encouraged to bring in examples of current assignments they are working on as this will aid them in learning around a real example.  Because students bring in current assignments, the strategies will be created to meet the needs of the individual student.
Student workshops are limited to 12 students to allow for individual questions to be answered and student specific strategies to be developed.
