Achievements
The teachers at the school are dedicated to ensuring their students receive a proper education. Last year, 50 students wrote their final exams and, despite their limited resources the school placed best in their zone.
Funding
In terms of funding, the school receives no support from the Kenyan government or the UN. Parent are asked to contribute small amounts of money for uniforms and exercise books, but even this is a struggle due to high employement rates in Nairobi. The school relies on outside help from interested donors to meet operational costs.
CSVD
Canadian Sudanese Volunteers for Development
is a small faith-based, grass-roots organization
based in London, Canada.They have been involved in fundraising efforts for Sud Academy since 2004. They have been impressed by the determination of the staff and students of Sud
Academy, and seek to stand in solidarity with them as they "strive for excellence", as their school motto states.
