DID YOU KNOW ...

~ Did you know that the "h" & the "a"  in Duhamel are silent?  Josh's last name is actually pronounced "Doo-mel" & not the "Du-Ha-Mel" I'm sure he gets a lot!

~ Josh has 3 sisters: Ashlee, McKenzee, & Kassidy.   His mother Bonny teaches physical ed, while his father Larry is an advertising salesman in Pelican Bay, MN.

~ In high school, Josh was quite the athlete.  He played football, baseball, baketball, & ran track.  Josh is also a big golf fan & oftentimes golfs with AMC co-star Cameron Mathison!

~ Co-star Vincent Irizarry saw Josh's screen test for "Leo" and told casting director Judy Wilson, "Hands down, this is the guy."  He said Josh was the only one in the bunch that came across as a natural.

~ Josh (at right, w/ lucky fan Marlene Perotta at a fan event) made performer of the week in the 5/23/00 edition of SOD!  They said he possessed "raw talent" & had a bright future ahead of him.  Of course, we knew this already! ;-)

~ Josh was a model before he became an actor & had very little acting experience coming into the role of "Leo Du Pres".

~ Josh actually considered a career in dentistry (paging Dr. Duhamel, paging Dr. Duhamel!)

~ Josh credits the writer's on AMC because "90% of the success [of Josh's character] is because of them."

~ Josh tested for the role of "Ethan" on Passions & "Jude" on the now defunct  Sunset Beach.

~ In order to improve on his ability, Josh frequently re-watches scenes of himself over & over again in his apartment.

~ Josh's girlfriend Kristy Pierce oftentimes teases him on the clothes "Leo" wears! ;-) 

~ Josh is quick to point out that he doesn't dress a thing like "Leo" in real life & that he would "never" wear leather pants in public the way "Leo" does.

~ Josh (at right, w/ co-stars Marj Dusay & James Mitchell) doesn't want to turn "Leo" into a nice guy.  He says it's nice for "Leo" to have some good qualities, but that he shouldn't be "turned into a softie."

~ Josh attended Minot State University & left one elective credit short of a degree in biology.

~ Josh didn't get the call back from auditioning for "Leo Du Pres" until a month & a half after he audtioned for the role.
