I Had It All Along
I don't know about you, but until only a few years ago I would compare myself to everyone! I always felt inferior in some way. I don't know if I could have possibly thought less of myself than I did back then.

When we are growing-up we take many comments to heart and believe them to be true. If your mother, whom you thought knew everything, made a negative comment about you than it must be true, because 'Mom' knows everything. If a teacher or peer made a negative comment about you than it must be true. Most of what others say to or about you or not true. This is not our 'genuine self'. We actually can become what we 'think' we are because of comments that have been made.

Stop and think about all the negative comments that you've heard, and believed, over the years. Think about how many of them you actually believed to be true. Then think about how your life has been dictated and influenced by all those comments. Are you really being who you 'genuinely' are or are you what others have said you are? Think awhile before answering that.

Think of all the wonderful attributes you possess. Think about all the terrific things you could accomplish and be just by reversing all those nasty comments. You know yourself better than anyone else does. You know, in your heart, what and who you really are?

Don't allow anyone to take away the 'genuine' you. Ever! If someone told you that you are terrible in math or that you will never amount to anything you may have believed it to the point that you've actually sabotaged yourself and have lived your life according to others comments. We take what people say much too seriously.

How many times have I said "What we think, we are?" It's so true. Replace all those negative, defeating and untrue statements with positive, true statements. Use those statements as your affirmations. Get in touch with your 'genuine self' and accomplish all that you want to accomplish. When we are born we are born as our 'genuine self.'' We aren't born with all those negative things that others say we are. Remember that.

Knowing ourselves is accomplished through being enlightened. The only way to become enlightened is to know who we truly are. You can know yourself through meditation and by just putting a lot of thought into it. Write down your attributes daily. And believe them. You can do anything you want to do. All those wonderful things are inside you just waiting to come through. How do I know this? Because you had it all the time!!
