Just One Dream

Someone had asked me if I were dying what would be the one thing that I wish I had done in my life that I did not do? I thought about that question for a very long time. I didn't answer the person who had asked me that question. I told her that I would like to think about the question for a while.

After much thought, I had the answer to her question. The one thing I would wish I had done, but had not done it, would be to fulfill just one dream. Just one single fulfilled dream would be enough to make me feel like my life had not been wasted.

Then, I gave the question more thought. I decided that it wasn't just the dream fulfilled, but that I would also have treated myself and thought of myself as the person I wanted to be. That would be a wonderful and fulfilling life.

If you want to be an artist, think of yourself as an artist. If you want to be poet or writer, think of yourself as a poet or a writer. If you choose to be a peaceful person and a peacemaker, think of yourself as such. The mind believes what you tell it, over and over again. What you believe you are~~you are! By believing you are what you want to be can help make it happen.

If you have a dream, go for it. It doesn't matter what other people think about your dream. It's what you think about it that really matters. If someone thinks your dream is silly or that you cannot (or will not) ever accomplish that dream, that's all right. If you believe you can, than you can. Go for it.

I've always wanted to write a book. I'd written articles for MADD (Mother's Against Drunk Driving) in the past, and have done a lot of other writing, but had never attempted to write a book. That has been a dream of mine for many years. It was too hard to try to write a book when my sons were growing-up. With all the distractions it would have been too much of a challenge and my ex-husband was not supportive of anything I wanted to do. That made it even more difficult. I have a husband now who supports anything I want to do and stands behind me, always.

Now, my husband and I have the house to ourselves (with the exception of our dog and 2 cats) and have more time to concentrate on my writing. My first book is almost completed. Once I've finished writing it I will have fulfilled a long time dream of mine. I doesn't matter if it ever gets published. The important thing is that I attempted my dream and fulfilled it. If I accomplish anything else it will be frosting on the cake.

Life is a work in progress. Disregard others thoughts and words regarding what your dream is and just do what you can to accomplish that dream. This is the one really significant thing you can do for yourself. It's your dream. Don't die without at least attempting to fulfill that dream.

Our dreams are as important to us as other people's dreams are to them. No one should disregard another persons dreams and no one should discourage another from trying to achieve their dreams. Keep focused and keep forging ahead. It's your life and your dream.

Make the time to do what you need to do in order to fulfill your dream/s. There's no better time than today to begin challenging yourself and doing whatever you need to do to accomplish your dream/s.

I devoted this entire newsletter to the topic this week. Now, get on with it and start making your dream/s a reality.

Until next week I wish for you your own dreams and the time to accomplish them.
