Samara
and Jonathan saved the
best for last:
A
wonderful Italian dinner at Scarcella's Italian Grill.

Thank
you, Jonathan & Samara!
After we (Aunty D and
Uncle T) were momentarily lost, while the rest were buying lottery
tickets for the biggest lottery ever in California, we found each
other, thanks to cell phones, and found the restaurant, thanks to
Alana's sharp eyes.
We all enjoyed the house bread,
especially dunking it in the Italian oil and vinegar dip. Sue,
the Birthday Girl, had Beef Filet Bearnaise, topped with a tarragon infused hollandaise, served with
penné in a
tomato cream sauce with grilled zucchini.
Jonathan,
Uncle T and Aunty D had Frutti di Mare with fresh mussels, clams, rock shrimp, scallops and calamari, sauteed with
garlic and finished in white wine sauce or a light marinara sauce, all tossed with linguini.
It was fabulous!
Alana
had an Eggplant Parmesan Dinner, topped with marinara sauce and mozzarella, served over
penné marinara. Samara
had a Piccata, gently pounded chicken topped with a piquant sauce of lemon, white
wine, capers, and butter, served over linguini. And
we all sang
Happy Birthday
to Sue when the
restaurant staff brought her a
fluffy spumoni dessert.
Uncle
T and Alana shared a creme brulée, while the rest of us were
way too stuffed to
help Sue finish off her dessert.
