I am quite fond of the written word, so if you are looking for information on books & short stories, poetry or the like then I insist that you stay awile....If you are looking for information on Art, Video Games, TV & Movies or anything else visually stimulating, then be sure to take path that leads to Susanna's Palace
Many fantasy novels are ones of suspence, murder, horror and mystery. Or, they can be more light hearted and whimsical.... it can be up to the readers preferance but for me it just depends on my mood. Here are a few authors and their books that I have enjoyed, many of them you should know of.
Stephen King: It has been awile since I have read one of his tales, though I can still remember every chilling detail he described. He is one of the elite, lol. My favorites:
*** Carrie *** A very well known classic which was one that was made into a movie about a troubled girl whose anger towards the world is unleased onto it.
*** Rose Madder *** One of his newer works. A battered woman runs away and tries to start anew. Seems at first like a classic suspence/mystery senerio until she comes across a painting with a history and an "evil tree"(LOL Shari & Ma)
J.R.R. Tolkien: I know you've seen the movie "Lord Of The Rings" but have you read the works of the author? If not you are surely missing out! These tales of "Middle -earth" are for every fantasy fan. Creatures such as Elves, Hobbits, Orcs, Dwarves, Dragons as well as Humans and Wizards live in this complex world.
***The Hobbit*** I once handed in a report on this book! I know I am such a dork...but it got a high mark. It was widely read to children as a "fairy tale" back when parents actually read to their kids. Very easy to read, so if you tried to read "The Silmarallion" and said "whoa....this is not for me..." u may want to try this one.
***LOTR Trilogy*** I am listing these books as trilogy because u really should start with the first book of Lord of the Rings: "The Fellowship Of The Ring". Then The second "The Two Towers" and finaly "The Return Of The King".
