Our Animals
We enjoy having lots of animals around us.  We brought our first dairy goats to the farm shortly after we built the barn (-before the house was built.  Gotta have your priorities straight!)  In the spring of 2006 we added our first Boer goat, Celeste, and that summer we added a Boer buck, Spunky.  We got our first rabbit, a broken mini rex, from Vicki's nephew, Sam, in September, 2006.  In the summer of 2005 we fed-out a piglet on some goat milk.  He only lasted until the next butchering day.  In addition to our goats and rabbits, which have webpages of their own, we also have a dog.  Our dog Melody is an unregistered Great Pyrenese born in December of 2002.  Her job is to protect the goats.  Unfortunately, (like many humans) she is "married" to her job and isn't allowed out of her "office" very much.

We have had a few pets that will be fondly remembered.  Tiger was our tom cat.  He was Pip's son born in 2002. He left us in 2007 (for the greener pastures of a neighbor or heaven, we don't know which.)  Pipsqueak was a cat Mike rescued from his father-in-law's barn in 2001.  She was a very good "mouser".  Pipsqueak had LOTS of family and died shortly after weaning her last three kittens in September, 2006.  Patoka was a yellow and white cat born in the spring of 2000.  He was a great pet and barn cat.  He loved to play with Cheyenne.  Patoka left us in the winter of 2002.  Cheyenne was a UKC-registered Toy Fox Terrier that belonged to Matt. She was born on May 23, 2000.  She was a very excitable, but gentle girl!  Her favorite place to be was snuggled up next to the goats.  She joined Sioux in heaven after being hit on the road.  Sioux was Luke's puppy.  She was a gift from Luke's Grandma and Grandpa Kluemper.  She was born December 10, 2000.  Sioux was a sable and white rough Collie.  She enjoyed chasing balls just like Luke does!  Sioux died in a tragic accident on April 18, 2001, as she was crossing the road in front of our house.
