Mrs Ellen Gladys Diprose
Sadly Mrs Diprose died in October 2002 but had been a resident in Summerhill Road for over 60 years along with her husband Fred Diprose. She is survived by her son Michael Diprose who was also a long term resident of Summerhill Road. The following is an extract from her funeral service together with a photograph of the floral tributes.
Ellen Gladys Diprose 1916 2002
Born 7th July,1916 in Cornwall Road,Tottenham, the third of 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Educated at Downhills School, she left when she was 14 to work as a seamstress and then at
the Oceana Laundry, St Anns Road. There she met Frederick William Diprose, whom she
married on the 24th December 1939. She had one son, Michael in 1948, and three grandsons.
She attended the Robins Mission as a young girl for several years before joining
West green Baptist Church, where she remained an active member until she became too infirm
to attend. She was a member of the Womens Own, which she ran for many years. Her
belief, the Church and the Woman Own were the strength and mainstay of her life.
She went to be with her Lord on the morning of the 28th October,2002 at the age of 86
years
