HORSESHOE COACHES - A HISTORICAL GUIDE |
David
Rutter, the Grandson of the founder of Horseshoe Coaches, has published a wonderful book
titled - 'A Historical Guide to Horseshoe Coaches Ltd' It provides a wonderful insight into the origins and history of the company and contains a large number of fascinating photographs |
Harry Holmes was the founder and proprietor of Horseshoe Coaches and was the third generation of a family farriers business, commonly known as Henry Holmes & Sons. In the early days, before owning his own coach, the main source of income and work ironically came from shoeing the horses of the London Omnibus Company. Hence the name of his Coach Company. |
Sadly
the administration of Horseshoe Coaches Ltd was finally laid to rest in the winter of
1996. However the names lives on in the Travel and Mini Bus operation that David Rutter
runs in the Potters Bar area to this day. For anybody interested a copy of the book can be obtained directly from David Rutter at the following website address: www.horseshoe.tv/blog/BOOKPUBLICATIONS |
