The housing available is in Castletroy, Limerick. This is a suburb of Limerick City and is only a 15 minute bus journey from the city centre. Limerick and its environ's have many attractions, King John's Castle , St. Mary's Cathedral and Bunratty Castle to name a few.The pulitzer prize winning book Angela's Ashes was written by a Limerick man based on his experiences growing up in post-war Ireland. The scenic Cliffs of Moher are about an hour's drive away, the Ring of Kerry just over an hour with the Dingle peninsula is over two hours a way. There is a regular bus service to Dublin just outside the Hurler's pub (5 minute walk from housing). The bus costs approximately $20 return and takes approximately 3 hours.
The location of the housing is in Milford Grange, Castletroy. These houses are occupied by students during the college year(late Sept to early June) and are available for rent during the summer.The University of Limerick all its facilities are within close walking distance of the accomodation.The facilities include a brand new sports building, consisting of 4 indoor soccer pitches, a 260 meter indoor track , a full cardio-vascular and weight room. An indoor 50 meter pool is also near completion.The University itself lies on the banks of the river Shannon which is the longest river in Ireland. The walk along the river is used by athletes,fishermen and walkers alike.
