"Unity is Strength"
Plan on moving here? I don't really know what kind of questions anyone would have, but so that you know, there's plenty of areas that you can find to live in, and no matter where you are in Greater Hamilton, there's lots to see and do. I've lived here for 18 years and I've never gotten bored of this city. I don't like the winter here. It's not THAT rough, but I'm a wimp ;-) If you've lived in Midwest/Eastern States, you probably won't notice that much of a difference. And if you lived in most areas of Canada or the extreme north US States, the winter will probably seem pretty balmy to you.

If you don't wanna live in the city, that's kool too. There's lotsa farm land, fruits, wines, corn, hay, and soybeans are the main crops here (you have to go nearer to Niagara for the fruits and wines). And lotsa rural areas too, now that the surrounding area has become part of the "super" city!

Hamilton has a crime index above the national average of Canada or the US, at 180. (In comparison, most towns have indexes of under 100 and most of the larger cities have indexes of over 200). If you wanna know more, check out www.homefair.com. You can compare your current city to Hamilton, and see the main crimes here.  It's still a generally safe city. Just obey the obvious things, like stay outta rough or dark areas at night, and don't travel alone in strange areas!

Hamilton is a multicultural city, and the people here known for being  tolerant and accepting. If you wanna know more about this place, check out the linx section for more webpages!
Thanx fer reading this far!!! (I'm pretty amazed if you have ;-)

Ok, chances are, ya might not know Hamilton if you don't live in the nearby US states or Canada. But if you found this site, or are wondering, than here's a lil info! If you live here and wanna know more, if you know someone who lives here, or if you might be thinking of moving here, I hope that ya find lotsa info and maybe I can even convince you to visit this AmAzInG City!

First of all, the usual boring stuff. Hamilton is in Canada, Ontario to be exact. It's a large city,(9th largest in Canada) less than an hour away from Toronto (located north of the city) or Buffalo/NY border (located south east). It's at the head of Lake Ontario, so there's no shortage of water! There's a population of almost half a million people. Just because it's in Canada, certainly doesn't mean it's cold! Hamilton is in extreme Southern Canada, and in South-Central Ontario. Summer brings temperatures that can feel like over 95 degrees with the humidex, unpredictable swinging weather and temperatures in spring and fall, and the occasional dip below 25 degrees in winter. Be warned though, if the winds are right, the lake can cause some windchills below 20 degrees. The first snowfall is usually in late December/early January, and the last snowfall is February/early March. Summer brings some severe thunderstorms as well, though tornadoes are not often and usually small and in rural or flat areas.

Looking north, over Lake Ontario, ya can see the CN Tower, so if for some strange reason ya don't like it here  :*( sniff, sniff <---just kiddin!
than you can head to Toronto!

It's hard to describe the city of Hamilton in words. It's very large now, so every area is different. In the REAL Millenium (2001), Stoney Creek ( a nearby city), Glanbrook ( a nearby county), Flamborough, Dundas, and Ancaster (all neighboring towns) joined to become the "New" City of Hamilton. No longer is it called the Hamilton-Wentworth Region, it's now just Hamilton Region/County.

Hamilton is known as the SteelCity or "SteelTown" as it's called by us residents. It's one of Canada's leading steel maufacturers, but there's SO MUCH more than that! And with all the neighboring towns joining us, this could take awhile to show ya around..so, i made a pic page, with different area. This includes North Hamilton (the beach, industrial area), west Hamilton (Westdale Village, MacMaster University), South Hamilton (the escarpment) and Metro Hamilton, which is the downtown area.

Some kool things about this city, is that it's large and diverse. Different areas offer different things. There's plenty of city and malls for those of you who want to shop, parks and areas to hike, the best being on "the mountain". This is a "cliff" or escarpment that overlooks the city and stretches all the way to Niagara. It's pretty high, not a mountain at all though. So don't get your hopes up ;-) The drive is awesome, especially at night when you can see the whole city all lit up as you drive up. And the view is always amazing. If you're from the Southern States, West Hamiton and Westdale Village may give you a touch of home. It's a small area, almost a town in itself near MacMaster U, that resembles Louisianna. Well, some areas of it, i mean.

Wherever you go, and whatever you see here, hope that you have fun!
ENJOY!
